About

With a BSc, (Hons) in Multimedia Web Development, I have spent the past 2 years working with a Financial Technology firm acting as a Consultant for a Tier One Investment Bank while on their Graduate Programme of which I have completed.

My duties involve managing and troubleshooting Data Driven Applications helping to improve application performance and database configuration. I aspire to use this intricate database design as a benchmark for future projects due to its complex purpose yet intuitive design.

My creative flair has always been satisfied with Graphic Design projects to increase my creativity. All of which are used in my own projects that vary from the use of API integration and and Front End Development with Animation. Anything that sparks my interest and I am there!

My most recent accolade is becoming a Certified Oracle Associate (OCA) Java SE 8 Programmer.

Work Experience

A small description of my adventures through different industries and the experience I gained from each.

First Derivatives Plc

Occupation: Financial Engineer

Description: I have been with First Derivatives Plc for over 2 years. Of which I spent the beginning on their Graduate Programme. I am a part of two support teams managing the Market Data and Reference Data for a Tier One Investment Bank regarding their day to day Capital Market involvement. This data is time series based and requires constant support to confirm data correctness or updates when vendor data is inaccurately represented. Application support is also required to fix data validation tools in the form of GoldenSource and Asset Control. This involves Application Debugging, UAT and Regression Testing, validation and troubleshooting to name a few. From this work I have gained a great insight into intricate data manipulation and data storage that will be valuable when applied to other applications and databases.

Dundalk Institute of Technology

This is a four-year Multi-Disciplinary degree with emphasis on Design and Development for Web Applications. Video, Imagery and Audio editing alongside Entrepreneurship, Cloud Based Web Services and Application Security and many more modules bring all elements of the Development Industry together.

I have learned to adapt to many different technologies throughout the degree allowing me to learn and pick up new technologies easier and faster.

Occupation: Website and Software Development

Description: A twenty week work placement during my third year of college. I worked on developing their new website as well as working alongside the team developing their web services. All projects used agile development with Scrum which gave a great insight into deadlines and commercial requirements.

Occupation: 8 week Internship Web Development

Description: I worked on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) testing of their new web service making sure it was fit for purpose and resolving any bugs. I worked with the development team helping redesign some features and solve issues that had arisen through the testing process. I helped validate and develop some key features and forms used for the web service.

Description: My team worked alongside a local company to develop an application that allowed them to monitor employee performance and statistics so they knew where to improve and how the company was progressing. This collaboration allowed us to gain insight into project management as well as working in industry meeting industry requirements.
